For  please got to the members original submission found HERE.Artist's Comments This is the painting I've been working on for AGES for my mom's birthday. Well, i didn't finish it 'till long after her birthday, but she didn't seem to mind. She was really happy when I gave this to her, so i guess that made the tedium worth while. But OHHH MAN, I don't want to paint stuff like this all the time. It's been like 2 months, and i've hardly done any other art because i wanted to get this done as soon as possible. I was also in one of those "not really in the mood for art" modes for a while there, so working on it was sometimes a real chore! Well, it's done now, and I'm more or less happy with it. And my mom has been showing all her friends and stuff. lol! And her and my grandma went out for a walk the next day (I gave it to her a couple of days ago) and they were like taking all kinds of pictures saying 'ooh, this would be nice for melissa to paint! Oh, so would that!" And I was like "AHHHHH NO MORE!!!" Well, not until I've done a bunch of cute cartoony pictures or something first. ;3 Ok, so this was painted from a photo my mom took at Bowring Park (St. John's, Newfoundland) around christmas time this year. It's done in achrylic paint on an 8"x10" canvas. |
